it would certainly be an even more epic show if Bobby didn't have to resist everyone's choice to play Morning Dew after Dark Star.

I wouldn't say any show is the best ever. But if I could have only a few shows, this would likely be one of them. The dark star is unique and amazing. The china rider is a 72 great. And the GSET is legend.

I just can't get over how amazing the dew would've been had they played it. Listen to the end of dark star, you can hear it.

That being said, I'd rather have seen 9/21/72. Or 10/18 for that matter. But I certainly love 8/27

We got into this a while ago, Bob's detouring away from Morning Dew, which, if you listen , he di several time in the mid 72 period . El Paso is just not Morning Dew ... It is too bad they didn't go back in to DS (!!) and THEN into Sing Me Back Home ... Still rather heard Morning Dew .
As a matter of fact , there is little in the way of flowing from one song/jam to another , where so much Grateful Dead magic can happen . So for me it is one of the great GD shows , but not the "best" . Frankly I would be hard pressed to pick a best .
